Anybody is welcome to contribute to the site and blog whether you are a Society Member or not.

Maybe you belong to another golf society and want to interact, discuss or maybe even challenge us to a competition?

Society Rules

Current Society Rules &  Policies (original publication 3rd March 2009)

  1. Society members are responsible themselves for knowing the rules and policies of the society at all times. Rules and policies can be clarified by asking the Secretary where you do not fully understand the rule, but ‘not knowing the rules’ will not be a valid argument against any action that the committee takes, without exception.
  2. Any member who is in arrears with their subscriptions prior to a competition taking place will be ineligible to enter the competition until the arrears are settled. In the event of the Treasurer or Secretary not being available to collect subscriptions, then a cheque may be left behind the bar with the Steward, made out to Two Gates Club Golf Society.
  3. All members must be up-to-date with their subscriptions 7 days before a competition begins.
  4. Any member who falls into arrears up to a maximum of 3 months will be notified via text message to clear all arrears before entering next competition. Failure to do this could result in expulsion from the Society.
  5. Any person who resigns their membership, or who has had their membership terminated will be asked to return any clothing that bears the club logo and sponsors name on. An appropriate refund may be offered dependant on the quality of the clothing at that time.
  6. Any member who, once given a handicap and who fails to submit a scorecard for a period of 3 months, will have their handicap lapsed. This will only be re-instated once a scorecard is re-submitted and handicap readdressed.
  7. Competition date, format, cost etc will be posted on the notice board at least 3 weeks prior to competition taking place. In the event of withdrawing from the competition after the list has been removed from the notice board and the final numbers confirmed, you will be responsible for a minimum of 75% of the cost for that competition.
  8. On competition days it is required that all playing members wear the correct attire. i.e. Society Jumper and T-shirt.
  9. Society Tie & Jacket must be worn for events requiring this dress code. Namely, this is the Captain’s Day Event and the Club Championship. There could be other events also requiring this dress code from time to time.
  10. Members can obtain replacement ties from the Secretary at any time and ties generally take up to 10 days, or thereabouts, to obtain. Members are responsible themselves for both obtaining and wearing the correct attire.
  11. Failure to wear a Society tie to the required events will result in a £5 fine per event to the member. Replacement ties are currently priced at £3.
