Mobile Phone Hack Scam

Daz Lunn | January 21st, 2010 - 9:50 pm

If you have a mobile phone and you get a call from someone saying that they are an engineer from your network, or indeed anyone else, and they ask you to input a hash code of #90 or #09 or any similar combination into your phone then IMMEDIATELY HANG UP!

If you input the hash code they will gain access to your SIM and will rack up untold call charges against you.

BE WARNED!

This can be checked out with CrimeStoppers in the UK and as far as we understand at the moment and the PC dealing with this in the UK is PC Phil Corris who can be contacted on 01524 596696 – we understand that this is the Crime Prevention Unit although we have not checked this ourselves.

We would assume this could happen in any other country also.

Text everyone you know, Email them, Tweet them whatever you want just get the word out.
